The Imperial Porcelain Factory is almost 300 years old. It was founded by the Empress Elisabeth I herself during her reign. Thus, it was one of the first porcelain factories in Europe, which almost completely preserved the tradition of porcelain manufacture from the XVIII century.
Since the factory was first founded, outstanding Russian craftsmen and artists were invited for designing sketches, drawings and motifs for future creations, many of which have become iconic artworks of the Imperial Porcelain Factory and have been recognized globally. These days many of its items can be found in museums and art auctions around the world.
