The life and work of F. Dostoevsky is inextricably tied to St. Petersburg. Here his path, his rise and his real success began. The city served as the inspiration for his works and the setting for many of his novels. At the same time, St. Petersburg became an independent hero of his works, giving them a very characteristic mood.
Dostoevsky's Petersburg is unlike the city the tourist guidebooks tell us about. The grim atmosphere of the city reinforces the character of Dostoevsky's protagonists, the endless embankments, the lonely courtyard wells, and the enigmatic buildings represent another perspective of St. Petersburg and provoke insane ideas.
That's why it's so exciting to take a tour of Dostoevsky's St Petersburg, which we invite you to do.
