PhD candidate in cultural studies, researcher at the Hermitage, Nikolai Onegin, will tell the story of the investigation, which was carried out by experts from Russia and Great Britain. In the course of the research they managed to discover an amazing historical fact: the famous English artist William Morris, shortly before his death, completed a special commission for the Russian Emperor Nicholas II.
At this lecture you will learn how William Morris's wallpaper was made, how Nicholas II made his special orders, how the works of the English artist were brought into the interiors of the Winter Palace and what colors prevailed in the interiors of the last Tsar's family.
