PROGRAM BY DAY
We have already arranged everything, discover what awaits you
- We meet at our hotel in Les Baux de Provence and go to lunch at Chateau d'Estoublon, which has been operating since 1489 and covers an area of 300 hectares. We get acquainted and discuss the program over a welcome glass of wine.
- After lunch, we will visit the immersive Carrières de Lumière light show, which takes place at the foot of Les Baux de Provence, in the heart of the Alps. A unique sight that can impress even sophisticated art lovers.
- After that, we will go on a city tour and visit the Comte de Baux Castle, which was built in the 12th century and has played an important role in the history of the region ever since. At various times, many celebrities lived here, including Cardinal Richelieu and Marcel Pagnol.
- We have dinner in our cozy hotel, relax and share our impressions of the first acquaintance with the region.
- After breakfast, we leave the hotel and go on an excursion to Avignon. For several years, the city was the residence for the Pope. It was this period that gave the city magnificent architecture in the style of Gothic and Renaissance, as well as the majestic Pope Palace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- One of Pablo Picasso's masterpieces is inextricably linked with the name of the city. It is believed that it was with his work "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" that Cubism began. We will learn the story of the painting's creation, the girls, and why it was misunderstood even by the artist's close friends.
- We will visit the Petit-Palais Museum, which means the Little Palace, located in a 14th-century building and boasts a fine collection of paintings by Italian Renaissance masters. The gallery is proud of the paintings of Sandro Botticelli, including his unsurpassed "Madonna and Child". In addition, works by artists such as Taddeo Gaddi, Lorenzo Monaco, Vittore Carpaccio and many others are on display here.
- Let's go to the Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the famous wine region where wines were made for the Pope himself! A great lunch and tasting are organized for us. An interesting fact is that all Michelin restaurants in France buy wines here, and also have their own safes for storing them, which we will see.
- After that, we will visit the Château La Nerthe. We taste wines, the traditions of which are passed down from generation to generation.
- We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
- Today we will get acquainted with the amazing story of the life and work of the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. We will visit the Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole, a psychiatric hospital where Van Gogh was treated and actively engaged in painting. In the famous paintings of the artist, you can easily recognize the local landscapes: wheat fields, slender cypresses, blooming almond branches and bright irises.
- After that, we will go to a master class on making handmade soap based on lavender and fragrant herbs of Provence.
- Lunch at a French restaurant.
- We will visit the exquisite wine estate Chateau La Canorgue. The place is so picturesque that a film adaptation of Peter Mail's bestseller "The Good Year" was shot among its breathtaking landscapes. Chateau La Canorgue is the quintessence of Provence itself: an ancient 17th-century mansion surrounded by truffle oaks, mulberry trees, olive groves and a luxurious cherry orchard. Classic southern French varieties of white, red and rose wines are created from clay and limestone in local vineyards.
- Next, we will visit the Chateau La Coste winery, where wine, art and architecture coexist in harmony. We will have a guided tour of the chateau and, of course, a tasting of fine wines. The unique 200-hectare estate combines historical wealth and winemaking traditions from the time of the Roman Empire and is surrounded by vineyards, cypresses, olive trees and oaks. The most impressive building is the "Oak Room" by British sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. This is a cave with an entrance in the remains of an ancient Roman masonry wall. Once inside, you find yourself in an inverted nest: the walls and domed ceiling are made of intertwining oak branches in seven layers to hold the pressure of the earth.
- We check into a hotel located among the picturesque hills of Provence, have dinner and relax.
- After breakfast, we will go to the L'Occitane factory - this is a unique opportunity to learn more about the production of cosmetics from natural Provencal ingredients. The company is known for its high-quality skin care products, which have been manufactured in Provence for over 40 years.
- We will visit the 18th-century Chateau de la Gaude estate, which is located on the highest point of the district, offering breathtaking views of the vineyards. The symbiosis of hot days and mild evenings of the local climate gives the grapes excellent acidity and freshness.
- We are going to one of the most beautiful cities in France - Aix-en-Provence. Stone-paved ancient streets, palaces of the Provencal nobility in the Italian Baroque style, elegant facades of old mansions with wrought-iron balconies and, of course, many fountains create a unique charm of the city.
- We will have lunch in a cozy restaurant and stroll around the city, discussing our impressions of the trip.
- Transfer to Marseille airport.
- Our program has come to an end, but we are not saying goodbye, because new incredible journeys are waiting for us ahead!
